What happened to Google’s Interview Warmup?
It is no longer available. Its old address on Google’s site now redirects to a general article on how to prepare for an interview.
That article, How to Prepare for an Interview, is on Grow with Google.
What did Interview Warmup do?
It asked you interview questions, transcribed your spoken answers, and pointed out patterns such as the words you used most and job-related terms. It had question sets for a few fields and used your microphone, not your camera.
How is TrainVue different from Interview Warmup?
It adds the camera and the clock. You record video answers with prep and answer timers, as in a real one-way interview, then watch them back with your transcript, pace and filler words.
- Your questions. Use the sample set, type your own, or paste a list.
- The real format. Time to read, a 3-2-1 countdown, a fixed time to answer, and retakes only if the set allows them.
- A prompter for rehearsing. Your script sits under the webcam and follows your voice, so you can rehearse until you don’t need it.
- Content scoring. A score out of 10 for what you said, and what to fix first. Your first 3 answers are free with an account.
- Your videos stay yours. They stay in your browser unless cloud backup is on.
Is TrainVue free?
Yes. Practice, recording and the feedback on pace and filler words are free with no limit on takes, and you don’t need an account to start.
Content scoring is free for your first 3 answers with an account. Pro, for every answer, is coming soon.
Does TrainVue work on a phone?
It is built for a laptop or desktop with a webcam, in Chrome or Edge. On a phone, recording may work, but the prompter doesn’t.
Transcripts and the floating prompter need desktop Chrome or Edge. Recording works in other desktop browsers too.
